Two of the most fascinating cities in Europe are Prague and Vienna. This year we will experience the Christmas season in each of these wonderful places. We will begin our adventure in Prague, exploring Old Town with its beautiful architecture and visiting breweries and Christmas Markets. Our travels will take us to several surrounding cities and historic sites as we visit both of these historical cities.
From Prague we travel to Vienna and it's numerous Christmas Markets, each distinctly different. We will explore the best of these, along with area breweries all while experiencing the rich beauty and culture this historic city has to offer.
Day 1 Sunday, December 7, 2025
We will meet at our host hotel mid-morning for a tour of the city. Prague is an old-world city full of history and interesting architecture. The winding streets of Old Town offer interesting shops and restaurants around each corner. After our tour, we will visit our first brewery, U Fleků. This famous brewery is one of the oldest, dating back to 1499, and has been a brewery continually for over 500 years. We will have lunch at the brewery before heading out to explore the Christmas Market. Later in the afternoon we will visit another brewery, Pivovar U TÅ™í růží, near the Charles Bridge and Old Town Square. This brewery brews a variety of international styles of beer. From here, we return to our hotel to regroup before heading out to dinner at Pivovar U Medvídků, another small brewery in Prague. After dinner, we will visit a wonderful craft beer bar. (L,D)

Day 2 Monday, December 8, 2025
Today we visit Pilsen. After breakfast, we board the train for the hour-long ride to Pilsen. Our first stop is Plzeňský Prazdroj the brewery which brews Pilsner Urquell, a classic Czech Pilsner. We’ll take a tour of their brewery and, if we’re lucky, get the

chance to taste the unfiltered version of their beer in one of the cellars (only available at the brewery and its restaurant). After our tour, it’s a short walk to the town square and lunch. The afternoon is free to explore the Pilsen Christmas Market. We will head back to Prague for dinner and a night look at the Prague Christmas Market. (B,L,D)

Day 3 Tuesday, December 9, 2025
We start our day with a private walking tour of the Jewish Quarter. This historic area was impacted greatly during World War II and remains a lasting reminder of the Holocaust. After our tour, we will take the tram to visit the first of two monastery breweries, Břevnov Monastery Brewery, here we will enjoy a private tour of their brewery and beer tasting. From there we travel to Strahov Monastery Brewery for lunch and a tour/tasting. We return to our host hotel for a free evening and dinner on our own. (B,L)

Day 4 Wednesday, December 10, 2025
We rise early today for the 1.5 hour ride to the Hluboká Castle. The Czech Republic is home to the most castles in the world and the Hluboká Castle is perhaps the most beautiful. This Gothic, 13 century castle was most recently home to the Schwarzenberg family before becoming the property of the state. We will take a tour of some of the most famous rooms in the castle and have the opportunity to climb the Castle Tower. Following our tour, it's off to the BudÄ›jovický Budvar, home of the original Budweiser beer. We will enjoy a private tour of the brewery before heading to lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we will visit the Christmas Market located in the PÅ™emysl Otakar II Square. Here we can experience the
unique market associated with ÄŒeské BudÄ›jovice. We return to Old Town for dinner and our final night in Prague. (B,L,D)

This small brewery produces some excellent beer and offers a wide selection of items on their menu. From here, it’s off to our first Christmas Market in Vienna located in the Stittelberg area. This market will be different from those that we have experienced so far in that it has more of a neighborhood feel.
