Our adventure begins in Prague, the largest city in the Czech Republic, a city rich in culture and with a long history of brewing. We will spend two days exploring the city and it's breweries. From here we head to Pilsen for a night before stopping in Bamberg, one of the most beautiful and friendly towns in Franconia, where we will visit many of the breweries in and around the town. We end our trip in Munich. Here we will experience numerous beer halls and tap houses as well as visit several breweries.

Day 1

We meet at our host hotel in Prague and head out to explore the Prague Castle. This castle dates back to the 9th century and is the largest castle complex in the world. After our tour, we walk to Klášterní pivovar Strahov (the Strahov monastery brewery). We will tour the brewery before enjoying lunch and a beer tasting. After our tour, the afternoon is free to explore the city. We meet again at the hotel at 19:00 for our dinner at U TÅ™í růží, a wonderful brewery and restaurant. To round out our day, we will visit Pivovarský Klub, an amazing beer bar with 6 taps and over 250 bottle selections. (L,D)

Day 2

We are up and have breakfast by 09:00 and head to StaromEstske namEsti, the old town square. We will enjoy an hour or so on our own to explore the shops and buildings of this historic area before heading to the Czech Beer Museum and our first tour and tasting of the day. This museum offers an outstanding overview of the history of beer in the Czech Republic. From here we go to U Medvídků for lunch and a tour of their brewery. The afternoon is free to explore the city. Dinner is at 19:00 again tonight. We gather in the hotel lobby and go to U Fleků for dinner and a tour of their brewery. After dinner we'll visit the Prague Beer Museum (not the Czech Beer Museum), a bar offering 30+ taps.(B,L,D)

 

Day 3

Today we rise early for the short train ride to Pilsen. After checking into the hotel, we make ou way to Plzeňský Prazdroj, the Pilsner Urquell brewery. Here we will enjoy a tour and special tasting of their beer. After lunch, we will take time to explore the city on our own. We meet back at the hotel at 19:00 and enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant.. (B,L,D)

Day 4

After a quick breakfast, we board an early train for Bamberg. Upon arriving, we will check into our hotel before meeting with our guide for a walking tour of Bamberg. We have lunch at Brauerei Spezial and sample our first Rauchbier in Bamberg. After lunch, we will enjoy a leisurely walk through the streets of this beautiful town and visit three breweries along the way - Zum Sternla, Klosterbrau and Ambräusianum. The remainder of the afternoon is free to explore the city and possibly visit one of the bottle shops. We will meet in the hotel lobby before going to dinner at the famous Brauerei Schlenkerla. Day 5

Today we start with a tour of the famous Weyermann Malt House. This malter produces grains which are used in brewing beer alll over the world. From the malt house we will walk a short distance to The Hopfengarten Brewery where we will enjoy a short tour and tasting of sevveral of their beers. From here, it's off to lunch at Mahrs brewery. Mahrs produces some outstanding beer, both classic and new age styles. The last brewery that we will visit this afternoon is Brauerie Keesmann. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free to explore the city with its wonderful shops, sites and restaurants. (B,L)

Day 6

We rise early today and enjoy breakfast before boarding the train to Munich where we will be sampling some of the more classic German beer styles. We check into our hotel and then it is a short walk to our first brewery visit, Spaten Franziskaner. Spaten is one of the larger breweries that we will visit and we will be treated to a tour of their efficient brewery and taste some of their beer. From here, it's off to Schneider Brauhaus for lunch and a beer sampling. Afterwards, we will visit two additional 

breweries, Hacker Pschorr and Andechser am Dom, two excellent breweries in the center of the city. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore the city before we meet for dinner at the famous Augustiner Keller. (B,L,D)

Day 7

We start the day with a hearty breakfast and then it's off to the train station for a short ride to Aying where we enjoy lunch and a tour of the Ayinger Brewery. After lunch we return to Munich and visit some of the local tap houses before heading to the famous Hofbrauhaus for dinner. (B,L,D)

 

Day 8

After breakfast we say our goodbyes and head home or to our next destination. (B)

 

Mobility Notice

This tour involves substantial walking through breweries, museums and the cities we visit. In addition, climbing of stairs, navigating entryways, etc. is required. Many venues visited on this tour would not be considered ADA compliant. If you have concerns regarding these issues, please contact our staff as this might not be the best tour choice for you.
